One of my good friends and I were talking one night years into our single days and the conversation turned to one of our inevitable topics—our dating escapades.
This topic usually included lots of laughter, an occasional tear or two, a few sighs sprinkled here and there and lots of hope leading the way to the next dating story.
One of my favorite parts of these conversations was giving a name to the “offending” guy.
We’d go with the quick identifier like “I’m Going to Delete You guy” or “Rate Me” dude. Your catch needed to be released back into the wild. Why do we override our instincts and accept substandard levels for ourselves for the sake of not being difficult or fearing we are being too negative?
I used to be so against the concept of online dating but moving to London showed me an entirely different ‘dating climate’.Study abroad student Liam doesn't want to be another notch on Jillian's bedpost.Actually he has much more interesting ideas for Jillian and her bedposts, but his student visa's set expiration date means he can't promise her forever. There’s a good chance that you can go into the first date with nervous energy or even anxiety, and sometimes that can keep you from enjoying what may come to e.
There are a variety of reasons why people blow it on the first date, but having awareness and then working through these issues is what matters.Lets face it the dating world is rough; you meet fuckboys (or fuckgirls) at every turn, are ‘ghosted’ by people you date and are ‘hyped’ by people who use you to find the one.
